Nine Suspected Drug Traffickers Sent to Court

SIHANOUKVILLE: Preah Sihanouk Military Police have sent nine suspected drug traffickers to court on Thursday. Two separate operations were conducted by the police authorities which resulted to the arrest of the suspects. Director of the Sihanoukville Provincial Gendarmerie Drug Crimes Bureau has identified the drugs suspects:

1. Chan Vanna, male, 38, land guard, from Prek Sdech Village, Prek Sdech District, Battambang Province.

2. Nou Dina, Male, 24, unknown occupation,from Kampong Trabek District, Svay Rieng Province.

3. Khem Reth, Male, 34, unknown occupation from Banteay Meas District, Kampot Province.

4. Pon Vichet, Male, 18, unknown occupation from Village 5, Sangkat 4, Sihanoukville City, Preah Sihanouk Province.

These four suspects were arrested during the drug operation on Tuesday by the Sihanoukville Provincial Gendarmerie Justice Department led by Lieutenant Colonel Nha Piseth, in the koki village, Bit Trang commune, Prey Nob district, Preah Sihanouk province. Police were able to confiscate a firearm and drug paraphernalia.

Another operation on Tuesday resulted to the arrest five more suspected drug traffickers. They are identified as:

1. Loh Sary, male, 18, unknown occupation from Trapeang Ropov village, Prek Thnaot Commune, Teuk Chhou District, Kampot Province.

2. Yob Min male, 17, unknown occupation from Tropang Ropov village, Prek Tnaot commune, Teuk Chhou District, Kampot Province.

3. Chan Chhun, male, 21, unknown occupation from Prek Tol village, Teuk Thla commune, Prey Nob district, Preah Sihanouk province.

4. Hav Bunthong, male, 20, unknown occupation from Ta Ong Thom village, Samaki commune, Prey Nob district, Preah Sihanouk province.

5. Sos Hammat, male, 20, unknown occupation from Prek Toal Village, Teuk Thla Commune, Prey Nob District, Preah Sihanouk Province.

The above five suspects were arrested by Gendarmerie Force led by Lieutenant Colonel Men Vanna, Acting Commander, arrested at Prek village, Toal Teuk Thla commune, Prey Nob district, Preah Sihanouk province. Police have seized two large and three small packages of white powder weighing 953 grams, and drug paraphernalia.
